Maintenance Technician – Instrument, Electrical & Controls

This position performs the inspection, repair, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of various equipments in Global Operations (GO) operated facilities, joint ventures, subsidiaries, and SOE facilities as needed by Air Products GO.
In addition, to functional skills via experience and on the job training methods, great personal, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills to various degrees are required to successfully deal with these requirements. Refer to Responsibility section for details.
Nature and Scope
The maintenance technicians are located strategically at large ASU / ESG or HyCO facilities. They report functionally to the working lead (working supervisor) and administratively to country maintenance manager. No one reports to this position.
The maintenance technician have a very demanding position – are expected to respond to operations requirements on a 24 hrs per day, 7 days per week basis. Generally, the responsibilities are varied, depending on situation.
Responsibilities /
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Response to plant requirements. Prompt and timely response to requests for assistance and putting in the time and effort to meet internal and external customer’s expectations
2. Conduct new project commissioning/start-ups.
3. Plant equipment & facilities reliability improvement.
4. Technical-Provide technical skills to resolve problems either directly or through accurate identification of a problem and participating with functional engineering to resolve it.
5. Perform SAP PM Tasks, MI, BP, troubleshooting, repair for all responsibly equipment.
6. Support joint ventures, subsidiaries, regional PMO and third party.
7. Supervise the contractor’s work in the facility or shop to guarantee safety and quality and reliability of work.
8. Support unscheduled/emergency or schedule plant shutdown as required.
9. Reporting-Time entry weekly, and prepare technical reports either written or through entries into the resource management system to maintain accurate documentations on the plants, and to provide information for others in the organization to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
10. Support maintenance objectives.
11. Implement CI-, conduct CI event and have yellow belt certification.
12. Safety- Implement BSP work process, conduct or review JSA for major tasks.
13. Conduct CoNC root cause investigation and action plans.
14. Technical development-Contribute to the development of maintenance skills of maintenance teams.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Educational: Diploma or ITE (2 year or 3 year ) technical college holder in engineering discipline
2. Working Experience: Start minimum at 5 years and progress thereafter.
3. Hands-on work experience is a must.
4. Position will have experience in major shutdown support, project work, plant operations and maintenance efforts.
5. Knowledge of vendor contracts and knowledge of shop support in the region is desirable.
